Coastal Living in Pinamar
Nestled within the scenic landscapes bordering the coastal city of Pinamar lies the “Costa Esmeralda” neighborhood, a hub of urban development projects. Embraced by lush forests and coastal dunes, this vibrant community is defined by its proximity to the Argentine Sea and its expansive residential potential. It is within this dynamic setting that Casa Pirca finds its home, situated on a rectangular lot characterized by a significant longitudinal slope.
Inspired by Tradition
The design of Casa Pirca draws inspiration from traditional Andean architecture, particularly the concept of “Pirca” walls. These walls, historically used to delineate boundaries and support embankments, serve as a multifunctional element in the context of the house. In response to the challenging topography of the lot, a central wall is envisioned to divide the terrain into two distinct levels, providing structural support for the dwelling while accommodating various functional needs.
A Functional Response to Complex Terrain
The wall serves as more than just a structural element; it defines the entrance, creates space for the garage, contains the slope of the land, and even integrates storage areas. Extending the full length of the lot, it culminates in the boundaries of a tranquil pool, seamlessly blending form and function to optimize the use of space.
Embracing Coastal Living
In keeping with the essence of a summer residence, the design prioritizes materials that can withstand the coastal climate with minimal maintenance. Exposed concrete and local stone form the foundation of the structure, while black anodized aluminum carpentry adds a touch of modernity and transparency. Inside, white lacquered MDF furniture enhances the sense of purity and neutrality, contributing to the overall harmony of the space.
A Synthesis of Form and Function
At its core, Casa Pirca embodies a synthesis of form and function, seamlessly integrating architectural innovation with traditional elements. By embracing the unique characteristics of its site and prioritizing sustainability and durability, the house stands as a testament to thoughtful design and coastal living at its finest.
