Silena Hotel: Embracing Heritage and Culture

A Legacy Reimagined

Nestled at the edge of Valler Tal, Silena Hotel—formerly known as the historic ‘Moarhof’—embodies the timeless allure of architecture spanning generations. Recently, the hotel embarked on a transformative journey under the creative direction of noa*.

Architectural Evolution

In 2017, the proprietors of Hotel Silena embarked on a bold architectural endeavor, marking the second significant transformation of the property. Guided by noa*, the 2022 renovation breathed new life into the structure, introducing a fresh entrance, six additional suites, and an adults’ wellness retreat.

A Fusion of Cultures

Inspired by their travels through Asia, the hotel owners sought to infuse the customs and rituals they encountered into the fabric of the establishment. The interior design reflects this influence, incorporating classic elements and ambiances reminiscent of the Asian world. From material selection to color palette, every detail pays homage to this rich cultural tapestry.

Welcoming Passage

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a meticulously crafted wooden portal—an ode to traditional Asian woodworking techniques. The entryway, painted in a mineral finish, sets the stage for a transformative experience, leading visitors into a serene oasis where echoes of Asia abound.

Harmonious Integration

The interior spaces seamlessly blend Asian-inspired elements with the rustic charm of the Alpine landscape. Dark oak, a nod to the surrounding bog landscape, serves as a unifying motif, infusing warmth and character into every corner of the hotel.

Tranquil Retreats

The newly added suites, ranging from 30 to 55 square meters, offer an intimate sanctuary characterized by a delicate interplay of light and shadow. Inspired by Japanese design principles, each suite features well-defined spaces that flow seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.

Ceremonial Wellness

Atop the hotel, a wellness sanctuary awaits—a haven inspired by Japanese Onsen springs. Here, guests can indulge in traditional purification rituals, bask in the soothing waters of an open-air pool, and find solace amidst the breathtaking Alpine vistas.

Bridging Cultures

Silena Hotel stands as a testament to the harmonious intersection of tradition and innovation. In this Alpine retreat, two distant cultures converge, intertwining to create a captivating narrative that celebrates the timeless beauty of heritage and the allure of new horizons.
