Situated within a burgeoning creative hub adjacent to the Shanghai train station, the office spans the top two floors of a striking spherical building envisioned by Foster and Partners.
Celebrating Architectural Legacy:
Embracing the architectural legacy of the developer, Linehouse conceptualizes the office as an immersive exhibition space. It serves as a canvas to showcase architectural models, designer tools, material samples, furniture, and drawings. A timber insertion envelops the central circular core, delineating meeting rooms, offices, and pantries while doubling as a gallery-like display of architectural elements, fostering interaction and dialogue among occupants.
Sculptural Elegance:
The top floor boasts a soaring five-meter-high ceiling accentuated by a sculptural pleated ceiling inspired by origami folds, adding a touch of elegance and dynamism. A reception desk crafted from colored terrazzo sets the tone for the space, complemented by meeting rooms and offices cocooned in fluted glass, balancing privacy with ample natural light. Linear pendants suspended between the pleats of the ceiling add a modern flair.
Functional Sophistication:
The pantry exudes a pristine aesthetic with curved white tiles and timber-clad cabinetry, while customized organic-shaped desks harmonize with the building’s gentle curves. Versatile storage units on castor wheels enhance flexibility in the open working area. Private offices feature raked plaster walls, creating a serene ambiance conducive to focused work. The flooring, adorned in two tones of speckled grey Forbo vinyl, offers durability and visual interest.
Adaptive Design Solutions:
The lower office floor hosts a multifunctional town hall area, featuring a timber-stepped auditorium within the timber structure. A custom modular meeting table in gradient shades of grey facilitates seamless reconfiguration for diverse group sizes and programmatic needs. Stellar Works and & Tradition furnish the space, complemented by Linehouse’s bespoke working tables, epitomizing functional yet stylish design.
