E Studio embarks on a celestial journey with the design of the Jiu Mao Jiu Group Office, situated in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, in the vicinity of a former horse racecourse. Founded in 1995, Jiu Mao Jiu is a prominent Chinese restaurant group known for its diverse portfolio of brands catering to various consumer segments. With the goal of encapsulating the expansive universe of Jiu Mao Jiu Holdings Limited, E Studio conceptualized the office as a cosmic realm, where the headquarters serves as an ark and the sub-brands are represented as planets within a galactic ecosystem.
Embracing Cosmic Inspiration:
Drawing inspiration from the cosmic theme, the lobby entrance mimics a satellite suspended in space, guiding visitors towards each “planet” represented by the different sub-brands. Foamed aluminum and stone form the facade, with an enlarged structural column base serving as the satellite’s foundation. Mirrored stainless steel ceilings create an illusion of infinite space, accentuating transparency and openness.
Futuristic Elements and Spatial Distortion:
A 10-meter-long stone reception desk adorned with acrylic luminous modules serves as a focal point, distorting perceptions of space with its luminous presence. Mirrored stainless steel ceilings, coupled with acrylic luminous walls, evoke the ambiance of a space station, enhancing the futuristic theme. The integration of multimedia technology showcases the brand’s identity and narrative through interactive displays, fostering engagement and immersion.
Celestial Narratives and Spatial Dynamics:
Incorporating elements of the galaxy into the office space, floating planetary spheres adorn the lounge area, narrating the story of each brand as celestial bodies. A mirrored ceiling screen displays corporate culture and the concept of the black hole, further enhancing the galactic theme. The conference room, resembling a capsule, integrates multimedia systems to offer an immersive and transcendent experience.
Harmonizing Order and Freedom:
Transitioning from the lobby to the working area, a balance between order and freedom is established through thoughtful design elements. Glass box partitions in the meeting rooms offer privacy while maintaining visual connectivity. The open workspace, divided by cabinets with geometrically shaped entrances, fosters collaboration and individuality, transforming the office into a dynamic living environment.
Endless Exploration:
With over 100 slots in the open workspace, the office layout promotes flexibility and adaptability. Each cabinet features windows and distinct geometrical entrances, reflecting various functions and fostering internal connectivity. E Studio’s design ethos aims to evoke curiosity and exploration, inviting occupants to embark on a journey of discovery within the galactic workspace.
